ABOUT DECARBO ENGINEERING
Decarbo-Engineering GmbH was founded in 2022 with the vision of supporting businesses, industry, agriculture and municipalities in reducing their emissions to net zero. Our particular focus is on negative emissions, as we realized early on that a net zero target cannot be achieved without negative emissions.
The founder, Thomas Jakob Hoffmann, has been gaining extensive experience as a freelance engineer since 2013 in the areas of waste-to-energy (biogas), decentralized wastewater treatment technology, process heat and, since 2016, in pyrolysis plant technology. On the basis of this expertise, a strong network of specialized companies was created that, if required, act as subcontractors for decarbo engineering.
This flexible and dynamic working structure enables us to respond to individual customer requirements on a project-by-project basis and to develop cross-sector, tailor-made solutions that sustainably promote emission reduction in all areas.

Biochar Zero is a German consulting firm specializing in the development of biochar projects. It focuses on commercial aspects such as market analysis and product strategies. Biochar Zero also manages and jointly implements pioneering projects in the field of biochar carbon removal (BCR).
Tobias Ehn Consulting and Decarbo-Engineering GmbH enjoy a long-standing and successful partnership. Tobias Ehn's expertise lies in measurement and control technology and plant automation.
AnyChar & Partner is our scientific partner for everything related to input biomass and biochar for soil application. Their services include conducting feasibility studies prior to project initiation as well as monitoring and evaluating the charcoal application after implementation.
